Its bingo time again this evening (Thursday 21st August) from 8pm and then it’s very much a party weekend with private parties on both Friday and Saturday. Members always welcome but if you want your regular seat then you need to arrive early!
A final reminder that our next big live show takes place on Saturday 30th August. That brilliant duo ECLIPSE are back with their high energy 60’s show and tickets are now 80% sold so do e mail or text Pete if you want to enjoy another great live show night.

There is no cash quiz in August and the quiz returns at the start of the MacMillan weekend on Friday 26th September. Please note that entry for the quiz will be the usual £2 per player but there will be no cash prizes as all monies will go to the MacMillan fund. There will be some other prizes for the winners.
More September news;
The line dancing evenings will switch to Monday with effect from Monday 1st September. Please feel free to come and join the liners from 7pm onwards. The poker club will continue on Mondays but will be operating upstairs from the same date.
Tuesday evenings will feature the mens darts league and all are welcome to come and support them — We don’t yet have the official league start date so keep an eye on the noticeboard in the club.
Bingo dates for September are Thursday 4th and 18th.
Saturday 13th is another private party night
Saturday 20th is live music night with The Midnight River Band. Tickets will be £5 for members and £8 for guests. Please book your reserved seating with Pete in the usual way.
Saturday 27th is the busiest race night of the year and the middle event of our MacMillan weekend. Horses for sale and sponsorship packages will be available from Monday 8th September.
MacMillan Month (total for 2024 was £2611 – we plan to smash that figure in 2026)
Our social darts group are embarking on the MacMillan 12 hours darts marathon starting at 5pm on Friday 5th September – this will start for real the annual fundraising month which culminates with our MacMillian weekend on 26th to 28th September. That weekend features the friday night quiz, our busiest race night of the year on Saturday 27th and the MacMillan breakfast and auction day on Sunday 28th.
The social darts group have now passed the £1200 mark for sponsorship which is fantastic and that does not include gift aid – If you wish to sponsor the group this is the link you need.
Every penny raised goes directly into our MacMillan fundraising page. Thanks to all those who have already sponsored the team including those cash sponsors whose money will be loaded onto our page before the event starts. A special thanks to our social darts members who have been working so hard to raise sponsorship.
Please be aware that taking part in this marathon event is only open to our social darts group. We do however welcome any support throughout the evening – the bar will close at the usual time and no alcohol consumption allowed after 12 midnight. This is to ensure compliance with our license.
If you cannot sponsor online, please enquire at the club for cash sponsorship – the forms are available behind the bar and the bar team will be happy to help.
