MacMillan Cancer Race Night September 19th 2026;
As you know, the response as always to the MacMillan race night has been as good as ever. Again we are so thankful for your incredible generosity – all races are now sponsored and all horses have been sold. We are currently selling jockeys on the same basis as owners – £5 to saddle up and £20 if your horse is first past the post.
We would still love to have a sponsor for the whole event which would help towards programme printing, films and tote ticket costs. Its £120 to be the event sponsor with your name right there on the front page of our 8 pages event programme.
All owners, sponsors and jockeys will be highlighted in the race night programme so if you still want to get your name in the programme, just contact me if you want to be a jockey – we still have a total of 26 jockey spots available. For all details regarding this event, please contact Pete via the usual channels.
Next bingo night will be Thursday 17th September.
DJ Pete B is having a little break right now so it’s another jukebox evening this saturday and he returns on Saturday 12th September for his only night in September and there’s all the usual fun; recently we paid out a record amount for pop the question nights with £215 going to the lucky raffle and PTQ winners. Come and join our saturday fun nights.
Donna. Fran and Warren are back in action on Friday 18th September and their presentation this month is the brilliant classic “Calamity Jane”. Fancy dress is always encouraged! It all starts at 8pm and there is one major change to previous film nights as there is no food on offer this time. Please feel free to bring your own snacks etc. You can book in advance via Donna or Fran but its also a pay on the night event – £5 adults and just £2 for children. There will also be a cash raffle.
After the MacMillan race night on 19th, we move forward a week and its our famous MacMillan weekend with the friday night quiz on 25th hosted by Roni and her team; that all starts around 8.15pm and it’s £2 per contestant. Its a jukebox evening on 26th before the annual feast! Come and enjoy a great sunday breakfast from 9.30am, get involved with the Tombola and then prepare yourself (and bring your cash!!) as Warren will be in charge for the auction session from around 12 noon.
So out of September and into October with TWO live shows and it is a pleasure to welcome back that brilliant duo ECLIPSE who will be putting on their amazing 60’s show for us on Saturday 10th October. Tickets are £10 for members and £15 for guests. Please note ALL tickets must be paid for in advance but more importantly, please start making your bookings soon as I will be out of the country from 26th September until 3rd October. Tickets now on sale.
