What’s On-26 Jan 2026

Line dancing and RedTooth Poker tournament on monday evenings from 7pm.

League darts returns and takes place every other tuesday for our mixed team and every wednesday with the ladies darts league.

It’s the first monthly cash quiz coming up this friday (30th January) and all welcome from 8pm, £2 per player. Pete is hosting this month.

Bingo dates for the month are Thursday 5th and 19th. Great prize money and a very sociable evening from 8pm.

For your diary, the bingo dates also coming up are  5th and 19th March then 2nd April, day before the Easter weekend.

It’s private party time on Saturday 31st as Steve Riggs will be celebrating a big one. Members always welcome.

Our first big live show of 2026 takes place on Saturday 7th February with the outstanding ULTIMATE EVERLYS/TRICKS OF THE TRADE . Tickets are pretty much sold out although we could squeeze in another table for four if you fancy it.  Members £10, guests £15. This has sold out TWICE before and features 40 minutes of Everly Brothers classics and then Tricks of the Trade take over for a 2 hour session of great party music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

Another one for your diary – Friday 20th February is the first Donna and Fran “Film and Karaoke friday night” for 2026. The featured movie is Sister Act and tickets are selling well as always. Warren will be your host throughout so please see Fran or Donna for further information.

More February stuff including the Race Night!

Saturday 14th and 21st are both with DJ Pete for the usual fun with Pop The Question and the cash raffle and then Friday 27th is cash quiz night once again.

Saturday 28th February is your first race night of 2026 – 50% of the profit will go to a charity chosen by one of you at the event. You get a ticket to nominate your chosen charity and the one picked out will benefit from the proceeds as they have done these past two years during which Princess Alice Hospice and MacMillan Support were the beneficiaries. It’s one free entry per person but if you wish to have more than one entry it will be £3 for each additional entry ticket. These tickets will be distributed and drawn on the actual night.

The other 50% of the profit goes into entertainment subsidies thus enabling us to keep members prices for live shows at £10. Some of the live shows are more expensive than the sums we can raise via ticket sales hence the reason we do this each year. We remain committed to that £10 maximum for members.

Horses are now on sale for this event at the usual £5 each. You can name your horses and winning owners receive £20. Race sponsorship is always the toughest part to sell so if you can help then please contact Pete Bowers via this e mail address or as per contact details later in the e mail. Race sponsorship is £40 per race and event sponsorship is £100 – your name will feature on the front cover of the programme as the event sponsor and back page if you wish. Don’t forget we also have the auction race where you get together and bid for the 8 horses available…….we pay out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and it’s always a minimum 50% of the total pot.

Attending the event is great fun and we always enjoy a fun atmosphere with people cheering their horses on throughout the eight races. Betting is simply £1 a unit with no maximums. There are no age restrictions for this event.
