VE Day Service – Club Open Day

Happy VE day !

Victory in Europe Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, 8 May 1945; it marked the official surrender of all German military operations and the end of the war.

There will be a small commemoration service at the war memorial on Saturday to mark the occasion. Led by Alex Munro, the Rector of St Peter’s church. It will start at 12:15pm . Everyone is welcome to attend of course. We just ask that you don’t stand in the road, as unlike Remembrance Day, the main road will be in use.

We are also holding an open day at the club from 12:30 – 4pm and invite the local community to pop in and join in the celebration. There will be a free buffet and teas and coffees. There is also an option of a free glass of wine or bottle of beer. All are welcome, and you don’t have to be a member to enjoy the club. For those of you who don’t know where we are, we are located on St Marys Road. KT8 0ST. Its right next door to Music land. We hope to see you Saturday !
