Update on fire at the club.

Firstly, please accept our apologies for the delay in releasing this update, for reasons that will be obvious we have been caught up in a huge amount of work recently.

As I am sure most of our members are now aware, the club unfortunately suffered a small fire in the roof space above the snooker room. Whilst we were lucky that this didn’t result significant structural damage there has been some damage which is mostly contained in the snooker room.

In addition to the fire damage, whilst putting out the fire a large amount of water was used and this has caused further damage to the suspended ceiling on the ground floor of the club whilst the rest of the ground floor survived relatively unscathed.

In view of the water damage to the ceiling the Committee have taken the decision to replace the whole of the suspended ceiling and take this opportunity to re-wire the building with work due to start on Tuesday 1st September.

Whilst we cannot set a firm opening date at this stage, rest assured there is a plan in place and we are hoping that we may be back to normal within 4-6 weeks which is well ahead of what we were expecting in the days following the fire.

We would like to thank you for your support and look forward to welcoming you back.
