Remembrance Sunday, 9th November

We just wanted to update everyone on the plans for Remembrance Day this coming Sunday, 9th November.

The Parade will depart from outside Molesey Royal British Legion on St Marys Road at around 10.10am (it would be appreciated if anyone parking around the Legion could use the car park to allow room for the parade to form up on the road).

As in previous years there will be a rolling road closure for side access roads as it proceeds down Walton Road to the memorial. Walton Road will be closed from New Road (heading towards Hampton Court) at the point the Parade leaves the Legion (10.10am) meaning traffic will need to divert down New Road onto the Hurst Road to bypass the Parade.

Traffic will also need to divert down Arnison Road from 10.05am whilst the parade forms up to leave the Legion. This road block will be removed once the Parade has left but please bear in mind any traffic will have to remain behind the parade as it progresses or find an alternative route via the side roads.

The Arnison Road road closure will be reintroduced just before the Parade leaves the memorial on the return to the Legion at about 11.20.

At the memorial, please do your best to keep back from the entrance gates as those involved in the service will be entering through that gate and would appreciate some distance whilst doing so.

As always, we appreciate your consideration and hope to see you all there on the day and everyone is welcome back to the Legion afterwards.
