We just wanted to update everyone on the plans for Remembrance Sunday this year (Sunday 14th November) as we know the people of Molesey always pay their respect in a huge way.
We are nearly back to normal, but don’t think we are there yet, after last year when we did our best to pay our respects whilst adhering to government guidelines in a lockdown! It was a difficult year. The band will be back in full force this year, we will have a parade, and we have an agreed road closure with the local authorities. The Police have kindly agreed to attend this year, which is crucial for the parade to take place.
The Parade itself is smaller than previous years but this is due to COVID concerns of too many people being close together. This doesn’t come just from us, but also the individual organisations involved that would normally be involved, and of course we understand and respect those views.
The Parade will leave Molesey Legion on St Marys Road at around 10.10am.
Please could everyone respect the parade as it moves through the town and along Walton Road. At the memorial, please do your best to keep back from the entrance gate as those involved in the parade will be entering through that gate and would appreciate some distance whilst doing so.
We hope to see you all on the day
